A Healthy and GROWING Baby

This morning we headed back to the doctors for another ultrasound. They were concerned with the full attachment of the placenta to my uterus at my 17 week ultrasound. Today, the doctor says it may or may not be, but CAM is growing and everything looks great! She’s about 2.5 pounds already and my due date has been moved up to September 24, rather than 27th. But who knows, I may go a week early or 2 weeks late .. it’s all up to when she’s ready to make her entrance! She was rather still this morning – a big difference from the last one. She kept running from the doctor and they had a hard time getting all of their measurements. But today, she must have been sleeping! I asked doc to verify the sex, and she says that SHE is a SHE and will not become a HE! I needed some reassurance due to 3 dreams I’ve had about having a little boy! I go back in 6 weeks for another ultrasound, just to be sure everything is still looking good!

Saturday, Shane and I headed to Winston to get some more things for her nursery. We ended up getting a bunch more clothes, thanks to Babies R Us and their extra 30% off clearance prices. We scored some major deals and some cute little clothes. We also went into Once Upon a Child, a consignment store filled with kids clothes, gear, and toys. We avoided the clothing, but ended up finding a portable swing for 1/2 price, a birthday present for Ethan, and some things right down Shane’s alley. JORDAN shoes! He was like a kid in the candy store! So, we ended up with 9 pairs all different sizes and then a pair of Lebron’s. Some of them had never been worn! The one thing that many people don’t know about Shane is his shoe obsession. He loves to spend hundreds of dollars on Jordan shoes. Now, granted, he takes very good care of his shoes, but he just can’t get away from those shoes! And he’s already started our little girl out with her own collection of shoes. BUT we didn’t spend even close to 30 dollars for a pair. They were more like 3 and 4 bucks each .. still too expensive for my liking, but it made his day! And that’s what a marriage is about – sacrifice for the other one to enjoy something.

After the day of shopping, we’ve had a busy weekend of getting the kitchen almost completed and doing this and that around the house. An old acquaintance had her baby on Sunday and seeing those pictures makes me want September to come that much faster. Even if it means sleepless nights and intense pain in the delivery room! We’re both so ready to meet our bundle of joy!
